Trust in the Lord with all "thine" heart!

Hola mi familia!

So I don't know what to start out with...the amazingly spiritual goodness or the surprise news (for me, at least). Let's go ahead and end on the good stuff! :)

So...remember last week, I told y'all that transfers we're coming up? And remember how I was pretty sure that Sister Fine and I would both be staying in Mars Hill? Well...on Saturday night, we got the call saying that we need to find a ride to Peachtree City. One of us is being transferred. We don't find out who's staying and who's going until tonight at about 9:30. The suspense is exciting and nerve-wracking all at the same time! Although, Sister Collier said we could also be getting a third sister...I'm praying for that one!! haha! I was sooo sure we'd both be staying in Mars Hill, but Sister Fine had a feeling one of us would be leaving...at least she was listening to the Spirit, I guess I'm just stubborn, haha! :) It's so sad!! Saying goodbye to my MTC district was hard, but I've been with Sister Fine 24/7 for the last six weeks! She's really become like a sister to me. I love her to pieces!! We've started saying goodbye to some of the ward members and investigators, as well, in case we don't get to see them again before Wednesday...sooo sad! And if Sister Fine leaves, that means I'll be the senior companion. I don't feel ready for that at all, but I guess Heavenly Father knows what I'm capable of??? Proverbs 3:5-6, that's what I keep telling myself! Oh, and here's another missionary term I've learned: Whoever my new companion is will be "greenie busting" me. So we'll see who my greenie buster is on Wednesday!

Okay, now for the spiritual goodness! Mike was baptized on Saturday!!! Oh my goodness! It was sooooo amazing! He was also confirmed that night. The Spirit was sooo strong! Sister Fine and I both said we could already see the difference in him that night. It's as though he was standing a little taller, and he had a glow about him! And the sister missionaries sang a really pretty song, "In Quiet Grove." I was sooo nervous, because we only got to practice it like three times right before the service started. I was feeling pretty shaky about it, but once we got up there and started to sing, it all came together! I know we couldn't have done it if the Holy Ghost hadn't been there! Oh, and guess what the closing hymn was, Mom? "There Is Sunshine in My Soul Today!" :) :)

Yesterday was the Primary Program in our ward! All the Primary kids in the ward did a Sacrament Meeting presentation with scriptures and testimonies and songs. It was sooo precious!!

We have a few new investigators! We found Melanie in our records of former investigators; she has a friend who just got back from his mission, and she's been attending the Acworth Ward with a family. She seems like a really sweet person, and we'll be meeting with her on Wednesday night! We also met Ronny after visiting with some recent converts. We were walking back to our car and saw him sitting on his porch. We went up to him and gave him a pass-along card for the Book of Mormon, and he invited us to come back the next day. When we went back, he was there, and one of his neighbors was also there, Kirk. We found out that Ronny had just moved into the area about two months ago and has been looking for a new church. We introduced both of them to the Book of Mormon. Ronny is Baptist, and Kirk is Methodist. They're both really open to learning more about what we believe in, and they said they would read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. They're both really nice guys, and we're going to try to see them this week to teach them about the Plan of Salvation.

Have y'all seen the new Ensign about temples? Jamie was so sweet and mailed me a copy! Can y'all please thank her for me? I'm writing her a thank you note, too! I loooved looking at all the pictures of the temples, and I really loved the article, "Preparing for the Blessings of the Temple." Sister Fine was looking at it, too, and she started to cry--she hasn't been to the temple since she was in the MTC back in December! I miss the temple and I was there at the end of August--we're both so excited for the Atlanta Temple to reopen!

How are you all doing?! Thank you, thank you for the package!!! Oh my goodness, it felt just like Christmas! And Dad!!! You made seven-layer bars! I almost started crying when I saw them, thank you so much!! I've been sharing with Sister Fine--she loves them! She wants the recipe! Could you please e-mail it to me? Thank you, thank you!!!

I think that's about it for this week...of course, I always think of something else when we're walking out of the library, haha! I love y'all and miss y'all sooooo much!!!!! You're always in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Much love,
Sister Crowe

I Love Being a Missionary!!!

Hey y'all!!

First, Brianna and Sarah!!! If you're reading this...Brianna, congrats congrats congrats congrats!!!!!! I am soooooo happy for you!!! Oh my goodness, you have to fill me in on the details, girlie!! And Sarah! Thank you sooo much for the note, and I am sooooo excited for you to get your mission call!!! I can't wait to hear where you'll be going! Hmm, I'm gonna guess...Georgia!!! Yeah, we could be companions!!! haha! Seriously, though, I think you'll go to Germany or...Pennsylvania. Wherever you go, you'll be awesome!! You have to write when you find out, I'll be sitting on pins and needles until then!

Mike's baptism is on Saturday!!!!! Sooo exciting!!! He's so ready! He'd made a promise with Heavenly Father that he was going to finish reading through the entire Book of Mormon before his baptism, and he finished reading it early Sunday morning--on 10/10/10! He's so amazing!!!

We're in a major finding mode right now...lots and lots of tracting. Someone in our ward said, "Everytime you knock on a door, someone's getting baptized in South America." So now I'm super excited when we knock on someone's door, even when they slam the door in our face, woohoo! haha! We did have a neat experience the other day, though. We'd gone to visit a less-active lady in our ward, but she wasn't home, so we started driving home to work on getting some of our records more organized. We were almost home, when we both felt like we needed to go back and tract on the less-active's street. We ended up tracting on that one street for two hours, and Sister Fine and I think it was to talk to one lady, who didn't even live on that street but was cleaning someone's house with her husband. She asked us a few questions about our missions (how long they are; how long we've been out; where we're from; what we do), and we told her about Mormon.org. She was really sweet and said she'd look at the website. Then, we'd crossed the street to knock on another house, and as we were walking back down to the street, we saw that the lady and her husband had left a vacuum right behind their car, and they were getting ready to back out. We were able to wave at them to stop so that they didn't lose a vacuum! I'm really grateful that Sister Fine and I were humble enough to act on those promptings we received, so we could be there for that couple!

Oh, remember Natalie?! Her parents are giving her permission to come to church!!! She stayed for all three hours yesterday, and she loved it!! We're not teaching her right now, as we don't want to push anything with her parents, but we are so excited for her!

Each week, we write a letter to President Satterfield to fill him in on how our week went and what we're doing with our investigators, less-actives, and recent converts. Here's his response from last week:

Sister Crowe,
What a great letter. I so appreciate all you had to say and loved to hear about the people you are working with. I am so grateful you joined the Church and have come on a mission here to be with us. Sister Satterfield and I love you and are excited to have you here for many months to come. You are doing a wonderful work and I see you growing and changing already.
We love you,
Pres. Satterfield

I love my mission parents!!!

Transfers are next week, on the 20th...I'm hoping and praying I get to stay in Mars Hill! I'd be super happy if I get to stay here until January...Sister Collier comes home December 27!! (Her brother, Brian, comes home next week!) But..."I'll go where You want me to go, dear Lord!" :) So we shall see what happens!

How are y'all doing?! Chris, how was England?!?!?! Ahhh, I can't wait to hear all about it! Mom, I'm so glad Sister's Collier's mom called you!!! I love their family!!! How is everyone at church? Give them my love for me!!! Dad, I heard about Grandpa's foot! I hope everything goes okay! It sounds like the kitties are doing good! Oh, I miss them so much! Emma sounds super cute! I can't wait to see Abby's new 'do! I'm sure she looks fabulous! :)

I love being a missionary!!! I think I probably say that every week, but I'm serious! This is the hardest thing I've ever done, but without missionary work, I wouldn't be who I am today. I know how precious the gospel is, and I want to share that with as many people as I can!

I love y'all sooooo much!!!!!!! I miss you a ton, and you're always in my thoughts and prayers!!!

Love y'all!!!!!

Cultivate an Attitude of Gratitude!!! :)

Hello family!

Can you believe it's already October?!?! I've been in Georgia for almost a whole month!!! Crazy!!!

Oh my goodness, General Conference!!!!! Was it amazing or what?! What were your favorite talks? We got to watch all of the sessions, but there were some technical difficulties on Saturday, so we missed most of the second session. I can't wait for the Ensign to come out so I can read all the talks! I loooved President Monson's talk on gratitude, and a few people talked about trusting in Heavenly Father, which was something I needed to hear.

Yesterday, we met Natalie. She's 16 years old, and she has been learning about the Church on her own for about a year, but her family is really big into their church and they don't want her coming to the LDS services. Her dad said she could watch Conference at the church building, and she got to stay for both sessions! She loved it! We talked to her in between sessions a bit, and we taught her about the Restoration of the gospel. She is so amazing and so prepared!!! Please keep her in your prayers, and her family, as well, that their hearts might be softened and they'll allow her to come to church!

So right after I e-mailed y'all last week, we heard that there were tornado warnings for parts of Georgia. And then, a few nights later, I dreamed that we were tracting in a storm with tornadoes...the weather's been pretty weird the last week! And it has gotten cold fast!!! I am learning how to layer, haha!

On Friday, we got to go down to Peachtree City for a sister's meeting. It was sooo fun!!! I got to meet all the other sisters in the mission, and I know how to change a tire now! haha! We also got to see pictures of the new dress guidelines for sisters--we get to look cute!!!

We did a ton of tracting last week. We had a couple of people say we could come back later and teach them more, yay! Hopefully they'll still have that desire when we come back!

Ooh, guess what?! My mission is going to be in movie theatres everywhere!!! haha, not really, just my area! They're filming the new Footloose movie in Acworth!!! That's like 20 minutes from where I am!!! How cool is that?!

How are y'all doing?! Chris is in England!!!!! I'm thinking of him all the time, I'm sure he's having a blast!!! Have y'all heard from him at all? I can't wait to hear all about it! I told him to eat lots of Flakes and Crunchies for me, haha! Mom, thank you for the letter! It sounds like you're all doing great! And I'm sooo happy your first Relief Society meeting went great! I looove the name you chose for the holiday night! Oh my goodness, it sounds like that's going to be so fun! And Amber had her baby!!! Yayyy!!! Aubrey's such a cute name! I will need to write her soon! Oh, and I looove Carly's wedding picture!!! I have it up on my bulletin board over my bed. Dad, I was craving some of your seven-layer bars the other day, haha!

Well, I love you all oodles!!!!! I think of you alllll the time and miss you bunches, but I know this is where I'm supposed to be right now. I have the best job in the world! Every day, I get to share something that has brought me so much joy and happiness. I love my job!!

Love you!!!
